—-Youths in Luangwa district, who graduated from the Zambia National Service (ZNS) Skills Training Centres, have appreciated government’s support for enabling them buy tools for use from the K10, 000 grants given to them through the National Youth Development Council (NYDC).

Speaking on behalf of the youths during the handing over ceremony of the tools by Luangwa District Commissioner, Eunie Mumba, Kusunga Musenge commended
government, through the National Youth Development Council, for giving them the K10, 000 grants.

Musenge said the youths, who graduated from the ZNS Skills Training Centres, were happy with government’s gesture of giving them the grants
which have enabled them buy tools to practice what they learnt from the skills training centres.

He said most of the youths, who had undergone the skills training in ZNS camps, just came out of these centres with the skills but with no
start-up capital.

Musenge said the tools bought from the grants, which include plumbing, bricklaying and tailoring machines will go a long in empowering the youths
economically and contribute to national development.

And Luangwa District Commissioner, Eunie Mumba, called on the youths to utilise the tools for the intended purpose of empowering them socially

and economically.

Mr Mumba said government attaches great importance to improving the wellbeing of the vulnerable in society especially the youths and women.

He appealed to them to make good use of the tools that they had bought from the K10, 000 grants and contribute positively to national
development.

The District Commissioner further urged the youths to register their cooperatives with relevant authorities so that they could benefit from
government contracts through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

He also said the tailoring tools can enable them raise quick money if they can make contacts with schools by sewing uniforms for them.
