Police arrest three pupils for exam leakage

Serenje,  28 November, 2014, ZANIS……..Police in Serenje district in the Central province have arrested three pupils for allegedly being in possession of examination papers.

Central Province Police Commissioner Standwell Lungu confirmed the development to ZANIS in a telephone interview today.

Mr Lungu named the three pupils as Morgan kunda ,17, and Morgan Mataba 14 both grade 10 pupils at Ibolelo secondary school of chief Chibale’s area and Chiti Mubanga 18, a grade nine pupil at Chimupati Basic School.

Mr Lungu said Police on 17th November around 19:20hrs found Kunda and Mataba with photocopies of the 2014 grade nine History and Religious Education (RE) question papers and hand written answers to the questions.

The Central Province Police Commissioner said on 20 November around 01:30hrs, Police found Mubanga with this years’ original RE examination copy in Chimupati area.

Mr Lungu urged Pupils in the country to be studying hard and refrain from engaging themselves in examination Malpractices.

“…If not prepared, it is better for one to repeat than start engaging in malpractices. You see you cannot steal knowledge. No wonder you find people who have good school results who fail to perform in colleges and universities”,  Mr Lungu said.

He said the trio are jointly charged with unlawful possession of examination papers.
