MIDFIELDER Fwayo Tembo is attending trials at South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League outfit Kaizer Chiefs. Chiefs popularly referred to as ‘Amakhosi’ are interested in signing the Zambian international. Fwayo is reportedly to have started his trials on Tuesday at Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena, Gauteng. “Kaizer Chiefs welcomed a new player, Fwayo Tembo for trials. Fwayo has been based in Switzerland and plays on the right wing. The Zambian can also play as a supporting striker as he has pace… and is considered one of the most skillful talents in his country [Zambia]. “He is 25-years old. Fwayo supposedly began training with Amakhosi yesterday [Tuesday].” Amakhosi stated on their Facebook page. Fwayo has struggled to find a new club since an alleged bust-up with Romanian side Astra Giurgiu owner Ioan Niculae last year. The gifted play-maker was last month left out of the Chipolopolo squad that defeated Mozambique and Cape Verde in the just-ended 2015 Equatorial Guinea Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers because of fitness concerns. Zambia edged Mozambique 1-0 in Maputo and beat Cape Verde with a similar scoreline at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola to qualify for the continental showpiece. The former Zanaco and Edusport player last month attended trials at Tanzanian Premier League champions Azam FC. Fwayo had stints with Swiss side FC Basel and Tunisian outfit Etoile du Sahel.
