STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE ON THE ALLEGED SUSPENSION OF OFFICIALS

SUNDAY 22ND NOVEMBER 2014
SUBJECT; SUSPENSION OF THE 16 IS ILLEGAL AND REMAINS NULL AND VOID
We have learnt with regret that a media statement has been issued by the Acting President Dr. Guy Scott, purporting to suspend 16 officials that include Members of the Central Committee and Members of Parliament.

We are shocked by this action as we had earlier today met and resolved to extend an olive branch to Dr. Guy Scott. The meeting also resolved to allow the General Conference slated for next week, to elect a Party President and Presidential Candidate.
The Central Committee also resolved to attend to the Meeting called by Acting Secretary General Mrs. Bridget Attanga that has been called on Sunday 23rd November 2014 at 12hrs at State House.

We are therefore surprised by this action to suspend party officials without cause and justification as the Central Committee had resolved all outstanding issues including matters related to Dr. Scott.
We wish to categorically state that the said suspensions are illegal, and therefore null and void. The 16 who are purported to suspend remain valid and are bona-fide holders of their positions and remain full members of the party.

We wish to advise Dr. Scott take the opportunity of the meeting at State House to raise any concerns he may hold.
As a party, we are resolved that the wrangles that have plagued the party the last few months are put behind to ensure that a Presidential Candidate is quickly adopted and the candidate begins his campaigns countrywide.
