PF creating enough jobs – Shamenda

MINISTER of Labour and Social Security Fackson Shamenda has asked the High Court to dismiss a defamation lawsuit by Dangote Industries Zambia Limited.
Mr Shamenda said the Dangote lawsuit should be set aside because it was erroneously taken to court.
This is in a case in which Dangote Industries Zambia Limited has sued Mr Shamenda for slander and libel, and the company is demanding aggravated damages amounting to over K100,000.
Mr Shamenda is alleged to have caused the publication of an article that an employee of Dangote Industries Zambia Limited attempted to bribe him.
“I crave the indulgence of the court for an order setting the writ and statement of claim by the applicant (Dangote Industries Zambia Limited) for irregularity,” he said.
Mr Shamenda said the complaints by Dangote Limited were published by the newspapers which are not party to the proceedings.
The matter will come up for hearing on November 26 this year.
