The family of late President Michael Sata has noted with concern that the name of the departed President is being used to advance private and personal interests.

In a statement signed by six members of the Sata family including his eldest son Mulenga, the family has since advised family members that are close or extended to express their views in their own capacity or their personal representation.

The family says it is their hope to preserve the legacy, wishes and vision of President Sata in a manner that promotes peace, unity and development in Zambia, as he would have wished himself.

The family has also called upon the leaders of the Patriotic Front to be united and focus on choosing a leader that will carry the legacy of President Sata and help develop the country.

Other family members who have appended their signatures to the statement include Ms Yvette Sata, Rachel Banda,Ms Sylvia Chalikosa,Mrs Monty Tembo and Mr W.G.K Mutale.
