-A civic leader of Mwansabombwe has called on members of the Patriotic Front-PF and youths in the district to remain united during and after the funeral of President Michael Sata.

Mwansabombwe Ward councillor Jacob Yankonde who is also Luapula province PF youth chairperson says there is need for the youths and the country at large to remain united during this trying moment that the party was going through.

ZANIS reports that Mr.Yankonde said there was need for the youths to show togetherness and support the decision that will be made by the central committee.

He said as a youth in the Patriotic Front he would love to see that the message that spread of the late President’s vision to develop Zambia during the 2011 elections lives on long after his death.

He said the late President’s works were characterized by so many good things citing the introduction of the social cash transfer, job creation and salary increments for public service workers as some of the positive developments that should be continued even after his death.

He added that the creation of Mwansabombwe as a district was one other decision that ensured development to be brought to the area as many things have now changed for the better.

Mr Yankonde said he was also happy with the decision taken by the Acting President Guy Scott to reinstate Edgar Lungu as Party Secretary General adding that the step taken was a mark of unity in the ruling party.
