Former president Rupiah Banda has implored Zambians to pray for the family of the late President Michael Sata.

Mr. Banda said First Lady Christine Kaseba, the bereaved family and the nation at large, need God’s strength, comfort and guidance especially in this time of mourning.

He said the loss of President Sata affected both his family and the nation at large hence the need to seek God’s guidance.

Mr. Banda said this after signing a book of condolences for the late President Sata at Government House in Lusaka today.

He arrived at Government House at 11:15 hours and was accompanied by his Administrative Secretary Mikatazo Wakumelo and other officials.

And Auditor General Anna Chifungula said Zambia has been robbed of a brave man in President Sata who she said worked tirelessly in the fight against corruption.

Dr. Chifungula said Mr. Sata inspired her to do what was right and not to spare anyone involved in any corrupt activities regardless of the position they held in society.

“For him it was do what is right, don’t care who is involved and don’t worry about whoever is involved in corrupt activities. If you have any problems, you have to get back to me, just do the job”, she said.

She said President Sata’s legacy of zero tolerance to corruption will continue to linger in her daily execution of duties as Auditor General.
