Road works cheer Kawambwa councilor

Kawambwa, October 16, 2014, ZANIS–Kawambwa ward Councilor Henry Mwila has commended the government for grading and gravelling the Kawambwa – Bubenshi  road.

The works on the road are being done by done by the Rural Reconstruction Unit (RRU).

ZANIS reports that Mr Mwila also disclosed that government was also constructing a new Bubenshi – 47miles road.

He was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Kawambwa today after he inspected the works on the road.

The civic leader noted that it was encouraging to find that the road which was graveled six years ago is now being worked on by the PF government.

Mr Mwila said the road was very important as it will ease transport problems among the farmers in the area.

Mr Mwila pointed out that he was happy to find that the RRU is doing a commendable job  that will see farmers transport their produce to the boma.

Meanwhile, Mr Mwila has complained about some people that were vandalizing boreholes in his ward.

According to Mr Mwila, two boreholes in the area have been vandalized at Chibwe and Zambezi villages where some people have removed pumps and rings.

In another development, the councilor has encouraged the people of Kawambwa to participate in the 50 years Golden jubilee celebrations to appreciate the peace that the country has enjoyed since independence in 1964.
