The Anti Corruption Commission has cleared Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili and former Labour deputy Minister Ronald Chitotela of corruption allegations
The Commission has also cleared North Western Province Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga of corruption allegations relating to the awarding of the digital migration tender.
ACC Public Relations Manager Timothy Moono has told a media briefing in Lusaka this morning that the allegations against Mr Chitotela who was accused of abusing constituency development funds for Pambashe constituency could not be substantiated.
Mr Moono has also said that the ACC decided to close the investigation against Mr Kambwili with regards a congratulatory advertisement placed in print media on his acquisition of a degree from CopperStone University after the allegations could not be proved,but that the Commission has made recommendations to the Ministry for Youth and Sport for administration action to be taken against some officials at the Ministry.
Mr Moono further states that the commission has also closed the investigation against former Information and Broadcasting permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga because allegations against him were not substantiated.
He has also disclosed that investigations into former Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo for alleged Abuse of Authority of Office over the manner she feted named traditional leaders using public funds during a civil matter has been concluded and that the commissions is currently analyzing evidence.
Mr Moono adds that investigations into allegations of Abuse of Authority of office against Ms. Masebo over the manner she canceled hunting concessions awarded by the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA), have reached an advantage stage and nearing completion.
And the Commission has referred the matter in which former Cabinet office permanent Secretary for Administration Anna Mwewa is facing allegation of Abuse of Authority of office to the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) for possible consent to prosecute.
Mr Moono says this follows conclusion of investigations by Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) into Ms. Mwewa’s alleged Abuse of Authority of Office over procurement irregularities involving VIP Curtains at Lusaka International Airport.
The ACC has also referred the matter in which former Agriculture deputy Minister Rogers Mwewa was being investigated for Abuse of Authority of Office relating to the utilization of CDF funds to National Prosecutions Authority for possible consent to prosecute.
