———The Civil Servants and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (CSAWUZ) in Kalulushi has appealed to the Kalulushi Municipal Council to ensure safety for casual women that are cleaning streets in town.

CSAWUZ Branch Chairperson, Terry Muyenga, says the women that arecleaning the streets in town had no protective clothing.

Mr Muyenga urged the council to ensure that safety and health measures for the workers were upheld.

He further added that the roads in Kalulushi had no corns to block the vehicles from passing where the women are cleaning.

Mr Muyenga said there was need for the local authority to ensure that something was put in order to control the movement of vehicles so that the women were not vulnerable to motorists.

He said his office had put up a concern to the council early this year and management assured that they would look into the matter.

Efforts to get the Acting Town Clerk failed as she was not in the office.
