–Senior Chief Mujimanzovu of the Kaonde people of Solwezi says lack of police presence in his chiefdom has continued to threaten the law and order in the area.

Senior Chief Mujimanzovu says crime in his chiefdom has escalated due to lack of security.

The traditional leader said this in a speech read on his behalf by the Nkambi traditional ceremony representative, Remmy Kajoba, over the weekend.

The Senior Chief complained that some of his subjects have taken advantage of the lack of police presence in the chiefdom and are committing crime at will.

The traditional leader said there is need to curb illegal fishing methods that are taking place in the Lunga River where fishermen are allegedly using explosives to kill fish.

Senior Chief Mujimanzovu is appealing to the Ministry of Home Affairs to quickly come to the aid of his chiefdom by building a police post in the area to help maintain law and order.
