—-Katete District Commissioner Colonel Peter Kaisa has called on police in the district to be sober minded during and after the forthcoming Kulamba tradition ceremony.

Colonel. Kaisa has further  advised the Zambia Police District Officer in Charge and his officers to be on high alert to crime.

The District Commissioner noted that crime becomes rampant in the district during the Kulamba tradition ceremony.

He added that police should therefore be on alert to respond to complaints from the public without delay.

ZANIS reports that the DC said this in an interview at his office today.

Meanwhile Col. Kaisa has called on communities to report any suspicious persons seen in their respective compounds.

He said police cannot manage to be everywhere but that with help from the communities the police can combat crime.

He explained that at often times criminals live among the communities and not in isolation.

He has since called on all security officers to work with a sober mind so that law and order can be reinforced.

He has further asked the District Joint Operations Committee (DJOC) to come up with strategies that will ensure that peace and tranquillity prevails in the district.
