Marauding Lions have invaded Chieftainess Nyanje’s area in Kapoche Constituency in Petauke district leaving about eleven domestic animals dead.

Area Member of Parliament, Nicolas Banda, has confirmed the development in an interview saying the presence of the lions has caused panic among the people in the area.

Mr. Banda says the presence of the lions has also instilled fear in the residents who cannot move freely for fear of being attacked by the beasts.

Mr. Banda has since appealed to the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) to urgently move in and control the lions that have invaded his constituency.

Meanwhile, one of the councilors in the area, who preferred to remain anonymous, has told QFM News in an interview that ZAWA officers are reluctant to move in and hunt down the Lions.

He however remains hopeful that the wildlife officers will quickly move in and gun down the lions.
