Kasama District Commissioner (DC) Kalanga Bwalya has warned motorists and cyclists to stop interfering with the construction of the Mwamba -Lukupa road.

In an interview, Mr Bwalya said his office had received reports from the contractor of Mwamba -Lukupa road that some motorist are neglecting road signs and driving through the fresh bituminous on the road.

He was speaking when he inspected the 10 kilometer road today.

Mr. Bwalya has appealed to motorists and cyclists against interfering in the works saying the road was meant to benefit the community.

And commenting on the on-going construction of Chilubanama bridge, Mr Bwalya said he was disappointed with the pace at which the works were being undertaken.

He said Chilubanama Bridge has been a source of concern among the members of the community adding that the pace at which the council was constructing the bridge was too slow.

He further urged the council to expedite the works at the bridge so that they are completed before the rainy season.

Mr. Bwalya said he expects Chilubanama bridge to be completed by the end of September because money from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) was available.

Chilubanama bridge is being constructed from the K260,000 million released from the CDF.
