—Mkushi District Council has warned all residents that are illegally developing land between Mkushi High School and the Air Strip to discontinue building.

In a statement released to ZANIS, Mkushi District Council Public Relations Officer, Mumba Mafwenko, said the developers should stop building on the land with immediate effect.

Ms Mafwenko mentioned that the land in question had already been surveyed and the council had recently allocated it to other people.

She added that the people in question should take this as official warning and comply because failure to do so will force the local authority to take legal action.

She further appealed to the said developers to visit the District Planning Office to seek clarifications on the land.

Meanwhile, residents that were interviewed on the matter said that the property developers had acquired the land from traditional authorities such as head men.
