Six families rendered homeless following court order in Kasama

Kasama, August 2nd, 2014, ZANIS —  ABOUT six families have been left homeless after they were evicted from their homes at Mako village of Kasama.

This followed a court order issued by the Lusaka High Court in the matter in which Evans Mukuka had sued Violet Chileshe and five others for illegally occupying his piece of land.

In executing the order, Court bailiffs in the company of state police swung into action and evicted the six families.

However, the affected families have complained that they have been left in the cold and have no place to run to.

They said at the moment, they were spending nights in the cold with their children because they were lacking shelter.

The victims of the eviction have appealed to authorities to come to their aid.
