Shiwang`andu business man arrested for breaking in and stealing

–Police in Chinsali district of Muchinga Province have arrested a Shiwang`andu-based business man for allegedly breaking into five buildings within Chinsali Town Centre.

Muchinga Province Deputy Police Commissioner, Bonny Kapeso, confirmed the development in an interview with the Zambia News and Information
Services (ZANIS) in Shiwang`andu today.


Mr Kapeso said the breaking in happened between 17th and 23rd July this year, adding that the frive buildings that were broken into include three boutiques, one bar and Shiwang`andu Health Office based in Chinsali.

The Deputy Police Commissioner identified the suspect as Taras Chendela of Matumbo Village.


Mr Kapeso further revealed that Chendela, while acting with others unknown, stole property amounting to K64,000, adding that his other
suspects are on the run and Police have since launched a man hunt for them.


He said police have since recovered property valued at K33, 000 which was found at Matumbo Village four days ago.


Mr Kapeso said Chendela will appear in court soon.
