18 Shepolopolo players report to camp

Lusaka, July 22, 2014, ZANIS—Newly engaged American Football expert Josh Kalkstein this morning took the Senior National Women Team for his first practice at the Olympic Youth Development Center in Lusaka.

Kalkstein has been engaged by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to help drill the team for 10  days ahead of the Africa Women Cup Championship to be hosted by Namibia in October this year.

According to a statement released to  ZANIS Sports in Lusaka today a total of eighteen players reported for training this morning at the OYDC.

However, the camp is without five players that have been excused as they are sitting for their examinations.

Those absent include Team Captain Mupopo Kabange who is in Glasgow Scotland for the Commonwealth games where she is competing in the 400 meters race.

Zambia qualified for the first time to the Women African Cup finals after ejecting their perennial rivals Zimbabwe via a two nil aggregate score line in May this year.

The Senior Shepolopolo has been placed in the same group with Ivory Coast, Nigeria and hosts Namibia in the draws which were conducted over the weekend in Windhoek.
