Patriotic Front cadres on Friday morning attacked the house of MMD Muchinga province Chairman Francis Bowa in Shiwangandu district where MMD Chairperson for Women Affairs Faustina Sinyangwe and Chairperson for International Relations Ambassador Joyce Musenge were holding an indoor meeting with party members.

This was despite Police in the area having sanctioned the indoor meeting.

MMD Chairperson for International Relations Ambassador Musenge has told Qfm News from Shiwangandu in a telephone interview that the cadres surrounded the house this morning and started throwing stones and in the process injured one Police officer.

Ambassador Musenge says quick action by the Police who were deployed to the house prevented the cadres from storming the house.

She has since commended the Police in the area for the professional manner in which they carrying out their duties.

And MMD National Secretary Muhabi Lungu has condemned the conduct of the PF cadres.

Mr Lungu has told QFM News that Police in Shiwangandu had allowed the party officials to hold the indoor meeting which the cadres disrupted.

He says it is unfortunate that the ruling party does not want to allow opposition political parties from holding meetings with party structures.

Mr Lungu says the behavior of the PF cadres is unacceptable and amounts to criminality.
