Three file for Namwala’s Chitongo ward

Three candidates have successfully filed in nominations for the forth coming Chitongo ward by-election in Namwala district.

 

The local government seat fell vacant after the death of United Party for National Development (UPND) ward councilor Shamikobo.

 

The candidates are ruling Patriotic Front’s Stewart Banda, Joseph Chawaanga of the United Party for National Development (UPND) and Hapius Mwaka who is standing on the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) ticket.

ZANIS in Namwala reports that the nominations were incident and violent free while members of different political parties conducted themselves well.

 

And Namwala district  Electoral Officer  who is also  Council Secretary Mabvuto Masiye described the nominations as incident and violence free .
