TWO people have died while five others are battling for their lives after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned after a tyre burst in Nyimba, Eastern Province.
The accident involving a Toyota Regius registration number ALP 3802 happened on Thursday around 14:00 hours on Great East Road at Kasusu area in Nyimba district.
Acting police public relations officer Esther Katongo identified the deceased as Clive Phiri and Masiye Ndlobvu of Chibesa area in Chipata.
She said in a statement made available to the Daily Mail that the bodies are in Nyimba District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmoterm.
Ms Katongo said the injured people, who include the driver, are admitted in the same hospital.
Meanwhile, police in Central Province have arrested a 22-year-old man for bestiality.
The accused, identified as Charles Siyamba, was arrested for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a goat at Mumbalane Forest in Chisamba on June 16.
The suspect will appear in court soon.
