Fake K100 notes are reported to be circulating in Kasama and the business community has since appealed to the police to bring the culprits to book.
This came to light when Christine Mumbi and Grace Mwiche, both business women of Kasama’s Newtown, told ZANIS that they sold their beer to unknown people using fake K100 notes.
Ms Mumbi was found with K200 while Ms Mwiche and the other lady who asked for anonymity had K100 counterfeit notes each.
The three business women of the same township yesterday traded in fake K100 notes.
And when contacted for a comment, Northern Province Deputy Police Commissioner, Alfred Nawa, said his office had not received any of such complaint by press time.
However, Mr Nawa has appealed to members of the public to be on alert and report to police suspicious people dealing in the fake notes.
