Superior Milling to comply with government’s directive to purchase enough Maize.

Superior Milling Managing Director Peter Cottan says his company will comply with government’s  directive to purchase 100 per cent of it maize locally.
Mr. Cottan says his company will purchase enough maize locally instead of depending  on the government  procured grain through the Food Reserve Agency [FRA].
The milling company Managing Director said this during the opening  of 32nd FRA depot in Mumbwa District.

 

He said it was  his company’s aim is to provide quality and affordable mealie meal at an affordable price and closer to the people.
He added that Superior milling is working with NWK Agric Services to purchase maize at K60.00 per 50 kg which will be paid upon delivery.
Mr. Cottan said a 25kg bag of mealie meal breakfast will cost K69.00 while that of Roller meal is costing K50.00.
He added that the outlet will also provide pre-mix flour, house hold sugar, rice and nsembe.

Government  through the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives urged farmers in the country to purchase enough maize instead of relying on maize bought by the FRA.

 

And Mumbwa District Commissioner Sunday Shamabanse praised Superior Milling for complying with government directive to purchase the maize.
He said it was pleasing that more Mumbwa residents were employed by the new company
