FAZ President Kalusha Bwalya says more and more world class football teams have shown willingness to play the Chipolopolo in international friendlies. Kalusha said this when he visited the Chipolopolo training camp this morning and took time to watch the team beat K-Stars by eleven goals to nil in a preparatory match at Barclays sport club.
“A lot of teams of world class standards have shown interest in us and we shall endeavour to play these matches here in Lusaka”(Heroes Stadium ) or In Ndola (Levy Stadium) added the Zambian football icon.
However the teams cannot be mentioned now as discussions are just beginning.
The FAZ chief also appealed to the young boys that that have been drafted in the team to put in their best and guarantee their stay in the team. He reminded the entire team that the Afcon qualifiers for Morocco must be taken seriously as Zambians cannot forgive the team if it fails to qualify.
Meanwhile Kalusha has prodded the Chipolopolo Women team to qualify for the Namibia Africa Championships and make history by eliminating the Zimbabwe Women warriors in the return match in Lusaka on June 8. Kalusha said this when he met the Women team at Barclays sports club shortly after addressing the senior Chipolopolo team which has broken camp today. ” I was pleasantly surprised by your away record and I hope we can qualify” In reply the women team answered “Yes We can”
And coach Patrice Beumelle is expected to name the final team to travel to America for the friendly with Japan this afternoon.
