The Match Commissioner for May 25th’s Africa Cup of Nations, 2015 Under Twenty qualifier, between Zambia and Mozambique, Mr Felix Tangawarima, says the death of Masauso Mwale has sadden the Confederation of African Football, (CAF). Speaking after holding the per-match meeting at Football house for May 25th game,Mr Tangawarima said he personally new Mwale and was devastated to hear of his passing on.
“We at Caf are saddened by this unfortunate happening, and on behalf of the entire confederation, I want to pass sincere condolences to the Mwale family, Nkana Football Club and indeed to the Zambian football fraternity. Its a hard time for Zambia especially that not long ago, you people lost “Keegan” (Rass) Mumba and Dennis Liwewe” concluded the veteran referee who is a FIFA refereeing Instructor for Southern and Eastern Africa regions.
And Chipolopolo coach Patrice Beumelle says Mwale’s death has shocked him to the core.
” I am shocked, sad. May his soul rest in peace. I am speechless, wordless.My thoughts are going to his family.Sincere condolences to the family and Nkana Football Club. Zambia has lost a great Man And a dedicated and passionate coach”.
Nkana Coach Masauso Mwale died May 23rd, 2014 evening in a road accident.
