TILKA Palijk impressive showing at the 2014 Africa Swimming Confederation (CANA) Zone Three and Four Swimming Championship
continued after she won a silver medal in the 200m breaststroke.
Palijk, who will be representing the country at both the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games, timed 2:50:10 minutes to add silver on the gold she had won for Zambia on Day One of the tournament.
The 17-year-old Paljk finished in second place behind South African, Kleynhans Licinda, who timed 2:49:18, which was a minute and 18
seconds ahead of Paljik to mint gold while Tanzaina’s Catherine Mason scooped bronze after finishing third timing 3:11:60.
Ryder Raffa also minted gold for Zambia in the day one in the even after clocking 35.20 in the men’s 50m breaststroke.
The rest of the Zambian swimmers that competed in Day Two of the swimming gala that comes to an end today in Kampala failed to finish
in the medal bracket with Hassen Weltin disqualified for not following rules.
