ICT Africa first series of fiber optic communication workshops have now been scheduled for South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The two day workshops will be held on July 3 and 4 in Midrand, July 8 and 9 in Lusaka and July 16 and 17 in Harare.

The FTTH Council Africa and BICSI endorsed fiber optic training sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including fundamentals of optical fiber, transmission systems and elements of fiber optic network design. The workshop is a must attend for managers, engineers and technicians responsible for planning and designing all types of optical networks – from national backbones to premises networks.

“The fiber optic communication training program empowers more African operators to take more control of how their optical networks are designed and developed. Operators do not have to rely entirely on their equipment vendors to design their networks as the interests of vendors and that of operators are not necessarily aligned,” commented Dr. Jabulani Dhliwayo, Co-Founder at ICT Africa.

Those completing the training program will be awarded a certificate of attendance and 12 BICSI continuing education credits. More details can be found on the ICT Africa fiber optic training workshop page.

  1. Hi LV

This is an encouragement to the development of our ICT sector(Fiber optic development to be specific). More development like this brings about more improvements to our network and communication aspect so as improve processed in our lives. If we could have more workshops in the ICT sector it would be a great development to our country as a whole.

    Regards,
    Mituka
