MMD president Nevers Mumba’s Special Assistant, Raphael Nakachinda has disclosed that the former ruling party will in the course of this month hold a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to resolves all differences that have rocked the party.

Mr. Nakachinda has however not stated the exact date for holding such a meeting.

Mr. Nakachinda has told Qfm News that the NEC Members opposed to Dr Mumba’s leadership will also be in attendance.

He says this is because the MMD is a democratic party tolerant to members’divergent views as long as they do not become emotional or personal while doing so.

Mr Nakachinda explains that the pending NEC meeting is what has been holding back Dr Mumba from commenting further on the wrangles in the former ruling party.

And Mr. Nakachinda says the position taken by the Lusaka province Executive Committee not to be part of the petitioners pushing for the holding of an extraordinary convention to elect a new leadership is a common view of most party members.

He says this is also why Dr. Mumba is insisting that the party uses internal channels and platforms to debate issues of concern to aggrieved party members.
