Work hard! Chilangwa tells Kawambwa women.

Kawambwa, 7April, ZANIS……..Kawambwa Central Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), Nixon Chilangwa has called on women to work hard  so that they improve their standard of living.

Mr. Chilangwa said women should consider joining registered clubs in order to engage themselves in income generating activities.

ZANIS reports that Mr.Chilangwa said this recently at his office when he handed over cheques from the Ministry of Gender to four women clubs.

He implored the recipients of the cheques to put the money into good use by ensuring that the funds are utilised for their intended purpose.

Mr. Chilangwa, who is also Home Affairs Deputy Minister, said the K3, 000 worth of cheques were meant to help the clubs procure chicken feed and vaccines for their Chicken rearing projects.

He said government through the Ministry of Gender has already procured chicken rearing equipment worth over 50,000 Kwacha for five women Clubs in his constituency.

Mr. Chilangwa said chickens worth 10,000 Kwacha will be delivered to the district by April 11 this year to the five clubs.

And Kawambwa District Commissioner, Ivo Mpasa cautioned the women
against sharing the money and urged them to ensure that chicken feed
and vaccines are procured.

Mr. Mpasa reminded the clubs that the cheques handed over to them and
the money used to procure the equipment belongs to government and
should therefore be used properly.

He said he will take keen interest in the chicken rearing projects and will monitor all the clubs expected to benefit from the programme to ensure that they meet the requirements.
