United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema says the Patriotic Front government should allow citizens to enjoy their constitutional rights.

Responding to Home Affairs Deputy Minister, Steven Kampyongo’s advice that he should find other avenues of advancing his political ambitions other than engaging students following his address to students at the University of Zambia, Mr. Hichilema says he has a constitutional right to mingle and share ideas with anyone.

Mr. Hichilema adds that students are also citizens of Zambia who are also affected with the many things that have gone wrong in the Patriotic Front government.

He says Zambia is a democratic country and the PF have an obligation to allow citizens to enjoy their freedoms including freedoms of expression and movement.

Mr. Hichilema says simply because Students and Zambians are not interested to listen to the alleged lies of the Patriotic Front any more, should not stop the opposition from speaking to them.

He says the PF should concentrate on correcting their mistakes which have resulted in suffering for the Zambian people.
