Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry Siazongo Siakalenge has expressed satisfaction with the construction works taking place at the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone Limited (LS-MFEZ).
Mr. Siakalenge said the workmanship exhibited by the contractor engaged by government to construct ring roads within the Multi facility Zone was pleasing.
He was speaking to journalists shortly after touring various projects taking place at the multi facility zone,
He extolled China Jiangxi for being consistent with the quality of workmanship on the roads and the drainages.
Mr. Siakalenge disclosed that 20 kilometers of ring roads have been completed while an additional five kilometers of ring roads are expected to be completed this year.
He said government will provide the necessary infrastructure so as to woo would be investors to set up different companies within the zone.
And Lusaka South Multi Facility Economic Zone (LS-MFEZ)Managing Director Fortune Kamusaki disclosed that his board has received 100 applications from various companies wanting to put up investment at the facility zone.
Dr. Kamusaki further revealed that five companies have already been appraised by the board of the LS-MFEZ.
He named Zambia Breweries, Zambia Fertilizer Company and Giant Plastic Limited as some of the firms that are expected to commence construction works at the zone soon.
