Fisherman drowns in Chilubi District

Chilubi, March 21, 2014, ZANIS —  A 36-year-old man of Chilubi district in Northern Province has drowned after the canal he was on capsized in Lake Bangweulu.

 

 

The area ward councilor Francis Milambo who confirmed the development to ZANIS in an interview , today.

 

 

Mr. Milambo said the incident happened during the Wednesday in Kawena village of chief Matipa’s area in Chilubi district.

 

 

He  explained that the deceased by the name of Musege Chinishi of Kawena village mate his fate when he went fishing with his colleague in Lake Bangweulu around 23 hours.

 

 

He said this was after a heavy windstorm hit their canal causing them to capsize.

 

 

Mr. Milambo added that the other man managed to swim but the deceased failed to make it.

 

 

He said Mr. Musenge’s body was retrieved from the water the following day and he has since been buried.
