ZAMBIA Volleyball Association (ZAVA) president Gabriel Muyinda will recontest his position at this monthend’s elective annual general meeting set for Kabwe’s Gonde Lodge.
And Lilayi College’s Philip Singoyi will challenge Berry Lwando for the vice presidency.
Muyinda, who is vying for the third term, declared his intentions in an interview from Kalumbila yesterday.
He will be challenged by Zambia Army’s Masiye Tembo, who has already filed in his nomination.
Muyinda said the current executive need to consolidate the different programmes it is running.
“Of course I am recontesting. We need continuity and we also have to ensure we bring our programmes to fruition as opposed to new people who will start all over again,” he said.
Muyinda, a medical doctor and Zambia National Blood Transfusion Services director, said his executive has a lot of developmental programmes currently running and that it would be imprudent to leave them hanging.
The elections are set for March 29.
