The Ngoni Royal Establishment has condemned and distanced itself from the pictures circulating online of musician Ponshano Kaiche holding a Ngoni woman’s breast.

Chief Madzimawe of the Ngoni speaking people of Chipata district in Eastern Province has told Q-News in a telephone interview that the Ngoni Royal Establishment are disheartened and are condemning in strongest sense such an act of circulating such pictures on the internet.

Chief Madzimawe says that it is also unfortunate that Ponshano Kaiche can take tribal friendship popularly known as Chimbuya this far.

The Traditional leader explains that Chimbuya does not mean holding women’s breasts and circulating pictures of such nature on the internet.

He further clarifies that when the Ngoni’s are showcasing their culture to the outside world and just how they lived in the years, it does not mean that people should take advantage of the women.

Chief Madzimawe says to this effect he demands a public apology from Ponshano Kaiche for circulating such pictures on the internet.

He says this is because the Ngoni Royal Establishment does not want to be seen as people promoting Gender Based Violence because the act portrayed in the circulated pictures is tantamount to Gender Based Violence.
