Zesco United coach George Lwandmina says he has taken positives from the goalless draw against Mozambique’s Ferroviaro da Beira in the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup played at Estadio do Ferroviaro on Sunday.

The Ndola-based outfit missed good chances in front of goal but Lwandamina believes his charges will come good in the return leg.

“We were unfortunate to have wasted a lot of opportunities that could have materialized into goals. A scoreless draw in the first leg away from home is not a bad result,” Lwandamina said

“We had nine chances that we failed to convert into goal, but all in all I am impressed with the mental preparedness of my boys. We maintained high levels of discipline on the pitch, none of the boys was booked by referee.

“We have studied Ferroviaro’s style of play and we are looking at nothing but a win at home in the return leg,” he said

The return leg of the first round is scheduled for Saturday March 8 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium . The winners of the tie will face either Madeama of Ghana or MAS of Morocco
