CHILUBI district commissioner Boniface Kamanda is appealing to Government to urgently establish Zambia Wild Life Authority ZAWA offices in the district so as to crop crocodiles which are terrorizing people in the area.

Mr. Kamanda said that people in the district are living in perpetual fears of being attacked and killed by crocodiles.

He said recently two people were killed by the said aquatic reptiles in Lake Bangweulu.

In an interview with ZANIS yesterday, the District Commissioner said if the situation left unchecked it is also likely to cause hunger in the area.

He observed that most of the locals in the district depend on finishing for their survival but that the situation has since affected their daily economic activities.

Mr. Kamanda said ZAWA when contacted yesterday promised to be in Chilubi district in two months time to crop the reptiles.

He said he is only hopping that the officers will be in the area as promised so that the issue of crocodile attacks becomes a thing of the past.
