Man Dies in Oxcart accident

A forty year old man of Luampa’s Mihozhi area in western Province has died while six other family members sustained minor injuries after an Oxcart they were travelling on overturned.

Luampa Mission Hospital Information Officer Charles Chilano disclosed the development to ZANIS in Luampa today.

Mr Chilano identified the deceased as Kafuti Chikasa of Mihozhi in Chief Mwana Tete in Luampa district.

The accident happened on 24 February 2014 in Mihozhi village when Mr Chikasa and other family members went into the bush to collect mushrooms for sell.

Mr Chilano said Chikasa sustained serious injuries and died on the way as he was referred to Lewanika General Hospital in Mongu.

He said other family members only sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the hospital.
