FOUR armed robbers on Sunday night stabbed a Chisamba farmer three times in the back and shot his son in the chest before getting away with K60,000 cash.
The men went away with the cash, leaving Steven Matongo, 40, and his son, Trywell aged 25, with serious injuries.
Mr Matongo and his son are currently admitted to Liteta District Hospital.
Central Province police chief Standwell Lungu said the robbery took place on Sunday night at Ndailali Village.
Mr Lungu said Trywell was shot after he attempted to stop the robbers from stabbing his father.
He said no arrest had been made so far but that investigations had been launched in the matter.
“I can confirm that we are investigating a case of aggravated robbery in which a father and a son were left injured,” he said.
In a related development, police in Kabwe have recovered a Toyota Prado registration number ALC 7629 which was stolen in Lusaka’s Ibex residential area on Sunday night.
The suspected car thieves abandoned the vehicle on the Great North Road near Green Leaf Farm after it got stuck in the mud.
