-PF Matero Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Miles Sampa has donated pens and pencils to Kasamba Primary School in his constituency.

The donation is worth thousands of Kwacha.

The MP says he is aware of the challenges some vulnerable families go through to educate their children.

Mr Sampa directed each pupil at the school get a pen and pencil each.

He disclosed this in Lusaka today when he addressed school pupils at Kasamba Primary School grounds.

Mr Sampa, who is also Commerce Deputy Minister, warned school authorities at the institution against abusing the donation.

He further pledged to assist the school with other education materials to ease the burden especially on the learners.

He said government is determined to improve the education standards in the country and urged the parents and guardians to rally behind the able leadership of President Micheal Sata.

The Deputy Minister further urged the parents to support the new education vernacular curriculum policy introduced by Government.

And Kasamba Primary School Head Teacher, Isaac Kaping’a, commended the area MP for the gesture in improving the education sector.

Mr Kaping’a, however, appealed to government through Mr Sampa to consider giving his school a bus for conducting education tours.

He said pupils need to be supported by well meaning Zambians at individual level and should not be left to government alone.
