The Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) has called on parliament to immediately amend the Ministerial Code of Conduct for it to start compelling Ministers facing corruption charges or under investigations to immediately resign.

FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza has told Qfm news that the current situation where a Minister continues to hold on to his position despite being investigated for corrupt charges is discouraging.

Mr. Mwanza says it is also a mockery of Justice for Cabinet Ministers being probed by tribunals to continue holding on to their Ministerial positions in government.

The FDD spokesperson says it is for this reason that the Mistrial Code of Conduct should be amended as in order that Minister facing investigation should be resigning to ensure that the law is applied to everyone equally.
