Red Arrows defender and Zambia home team captain Broson Chama has been voted the best footballer of the year.

The 27 year old beat ZESCO United midfielder Bandwagon Miltonic and Ronald Kampamba of Nkana to scoop the position.

Chama had a great comeback after a three year break when he captained the team to victory in the 2013 COSAFA Cup against defending champions Zimbabwe.

Chama captained Zambia to a third place finish at the 2013 CECAFA Cup in Kenya last year where the Chipolopolo appeared as guest team and had an inspired performance in Arrows defence.

Meanwhile, Kampamba settled for the golden boot award scoring 18 goals to help Nkana win an unprecedented 12th league title.

And Nkana’s Masauso Mwale won his first coach of the year accolade with his team dominating the individual player award while Billy Mwanza of Nkana walked away with an award of the most disciplined player.

Red arrows Winger Bruce Musakanya won the young player of the year while Gladys Lengwe retained the best referee award with Moses Mwale winning the best assistant referee.
