—MMD Luapula Constituency Chairperson, Pascale Chileya, has defected to the ruling party Patriotic Front (PF).
Mr Chileya cited infrastructural development being undertaken in the district by the PF government as the reason for his move.
Mr Chileya noted that the Patriotic Front Government’s efforts in trying to uplift the living standards of the poor people in the remotest areas and creation of new districts such as Lunga has seen a lot of employment creation.
He explained that his resignation should not be taken as a way of scrutinizing the PF Governance but as a move of working together with existing privileged authorities in spearheading development in Luapula Constituency.
And Amos Mushli, councillor for Kasoma Lunga Ward, who expressed contentment advised Mr Chileya not to indulge himself in bad habits that may find himelf wanting by the law.
This comes a few weeks after Luapula Member of Parliaments Emerine Kabanshi and the Decentralization Secretariat’s visit to Lunga district.
During the tour, the Decentralization Secretariat took some time to present the revised decentralization policy to the councillors and Heads of Departments.
