A FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD pupil of Ndeke Township in Kitwe has been defiled by a taxi driver who gave her a lift from school to home.
The pupil from an undisclosed school was on her way home when Joseph Mwaba, 20, offered her a lift and ended up defiling her.
Acting Copperbelt police chief Joyce Kasosa yesterday confirmed the incident which happened on Wednesday around 15:00 hours.
“The pupil after knocking off from school was offered a lift by Joseph Mwaba but along the way he turned on the girl and defiled her,” Ms Kasosa said.
She said Mwaba had since been arrested and detained for defilement.
And Ms Kasosa said a 39-year-old man of Garnetone area in Kitwe was found dead in his home on Wednesday.
She named the deceased as Living Lusenga of house number 724 who was found in the sitting room lying dead on the sofa.
Ms Kasosa said the body was found around 16:30 hours by Everisto Titima of the same neighbourhood.
She said police had not established yet whether the deceased was living alone or with other people and the cause of the death.
“The body was taken to Chambishi Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem to establish the cause of death,” she said.
