—President Michael Sata has appointed Enelesi Banda as District Commissioner for the newly created Vubwi district in Eastern Province.
Eastern Province Permanent Secretary, Chileshe Mulenga, confirmed to ZANIS in an interview that the Head of State made the appointment recently.
Dr Mulenga stated that Ms Banda, who once served in Katete district in the same capacity, will soon report to the district.
The Permanent Secretary said he looks forward to working with the newly appointed District Commissioner in developing Vubwi district.
Vubwi, which was declared a district in 2011 by President Michael Sata, has had no District Commissioner for three months following the transfer of Valenesi Moyo to Petauke district.
