Kafue District Commissioner Grace Ngulube has called on civil servants in the district to change their attitude towards work if the district is to develop.

Ms Ngulube said that there was too much laziness and negligence being exhibited by most workers especially in the health sector.

The DC visited Kafue District Hospital, Nangongwe and C5 Health Centres in the guise of being a patient.

Ms Ngulube undertook the tour to monitor the work culture of health workers following complaints from the public about the attitude of nurses at the health institutions.

She described the inertia by some nurses towards patients at health institutions she visited inhuman.

She noted that some nurses spend their time browsing on mobile phones than attending to patients.

Ms Ngulube further added that the few nurses with such an attitude dent the image of government and also steal government time and money.

Meanwhile, Ms Ngulube has commended Kafue District Medical Officer Wyson Munga and some of the nurses for their commitment towards work.

She has since called on those with poor work culture to desist and comply with the stipulated conditions of service if they are to remain in employment.
