Four councilors welcome GBM suspension
Kasama, January 16, 2014,ZANIS— Four Patriotic Front (PF) ward councilors in Kasama have commended the Provincial Executive committee for suspending Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba from the party.
The ward councilors said this to ZANIS in Kasama today.
Lukulu Ward Councilor Fidelis Chishoma said the decision by the committee is a welcome move as the PF wants to run a disciplined party.
Mr. Chishoma said Mr. Mwamba has not been loyal to the party and its leadership since he was elected as the area Member of Parliament.
And Lukupa ward councilor Chanda Kabwe said the suspension of Mr. Mwamba from the party will increase its popularity in the district.
Mr. Kabwe said Mr. Mwamba has not been able to bring any meaning full development to his constituency hence the need for the party in the district to suspend him.
He also urged other members of the PF to be loyal to the party and its leadership or risk being suspended and even expelled from the party.
Mr. Kabwe who is also PF Kasama District Information and Publicity Secretary said the party in the Province will not rest until Mr. Mwamba popularly known as GBM is expelled from the party.
But suspended Kasama Central Constituency Chairperson Abraham Mulenga expressed shock at the turn of events.
Mr. Mulenga who is also Mulilansolo ward councilor said he did not expect the Provincial Executive committee to suspend Mr. Mwamba from the party as he has not done anything wrong during his holiday in Kasama.
The Patriotic Front Provincial executive committee yesterday suspended Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba from the party for being disloyal and exhibiting indiscipline to the party and its leadership.
