42 year old Lusaka businessman nabbed for trafficking

LUSAKA, 7TH JANUARY, 2014, ZANIS…The Drug Enforcement Commission DEC has arrested a 42 year old Lusaka businessman for trafficking in cocaine.

 

Iqbal Bahadur 42 of House No 137B Villa Elizabetha in Lusaka has been arrested and jointly charged with his wife Lily Bahadur also aged 42 for trafficking in cocaine weighing 0.73 grammes.

 

ZANIS reports that  DEC Public Relations Officer Theresa Katongo confirmed the development in a statement,  today.

Meanwhile DEC in Eastern Province has arrested a Malawian national for being in possession of more than 20,000 counterfeit Zambian Kwacha notes.

 

Eford Phiri 30 a bricklayer of Council Flats in Katete district has been arrested for being in possession of K22,900 counterfeit notes.

 

Phiri was apprehended at Mwami Border in Chipata.

 

Ms Katongo said all the suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
