TWO people have died while eight others have sustained serious injuries in a road traffic accident in Kalomo.
Southern Province Police Chief Charity Katanga confirmed yesterday the accident which happened 16 kilometres from Kalomo town centre.
She said the accident happened when the driver of a Noah, registration number AJC 9575 driven by Sianzu Moonga, 21, had a tyre burst.
The vehicle lost control and overturned in the middle of the road.
Ms Katanga said the accident happened on Saturday around 09:30 hours, and she identified the deceased as Noel Moyo, 53, of Victoria Falls Town in Livingstone, and Marko Phiri, 32, of the same area. Both sustained head injuries.
She said eight others were admitted to Kalomo General Hospital while the bodies of the two deceased were in the same hospital’s mortuary.
