MMD president Nevers Mumba has described Labour Minister Fackson Shamenda’s blame of the Rupiah Banda led MMD government for the current mess in the civil service as a sign of complete failure to govern by the PF administration.

Dr. Mumba wonders why strikes by civil servants being witnessed under the PF government did not occur during the last ten years of the MMD government if the mess in the civil was really created by the previous MMD government as claimed by Mr. Shamenda.

Dr. Mumba has told Qfm in a telephone interview that Mr. Shamenda should instead try to reflect and understand that the Zambian people are neither children nor stupid not to understand what is happening.

He says what has happened to the civil service is that the PF government has failed to manage the civil service and the country as a whole and that the lies they told the people prior to the 2011 general elections have boomeranged.

Dr. Mumba has since advised the ruling PF that the only way to resolve the existing challenges in the civil service is not to blame the previous government but for the PF government to face the challenge squarely and show leadership and resolve the situation.
